Robin Hood: Bold Outlaw

Chosen Charities

by Allen W. Wright

When I set up the Hidden Grove in 2019 as an annex for my Robin Hood site, it was to raise money for SickKids - Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children. Access was restricted to those who donated to the campaign or helped with my site's upkeep.

In 2025, I opened the Hidden Grove up for everyone. However, if you have enjoyed the content of this page or any other section of my site, I hope you will support my chosen charities

You could always make the donation on behalf of Robin Hood - although if you want to acknowledge that the Bold Outlaw website sent you their way, I would not object.

Protecting Robin Hood's Home

The Sherwood Forest Trust was established in 1995. This registered charity helps conserve the  heathland and woodland of the real Sherwood Forest in England through a variety of special projects.

I have greatly enjoyed my visits to Sherwood, and I hope many others will continue to enjoy the forest for years to come. Please help them out in any way that you can.

Supporting Children's Hospitals

The Hidden Grove section of my site was founded to help raise funds for a children's hospital in Canada -- the country of my birth. The Robin Hood legend has entertained children of many generations, and it would be good to continue this cause.

Here are three great children's hospitals.

  • SICKKIDS- Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children. In 1875 they became the first children's hospital in Canada. 150 years later, they continue to help by treating children and conducting international medical research
  • BOSTON CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL - Like SickKids, this leading American pediatric hospital routinely tops the polls for the best children's hospital in the world.
  • GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN - You might recognize this world-renown hospital for its long-association with a figure who shares Robin Hood's dress sense -- Peter Pan
